After finishing my Discipleship Training School (DTS) with YWAM Worcester, South Africa, I’m heading back there in January to help Staff the next creative arts DTS. YWAM Worcester has a pioneering arts department and they are developing new training programs for African and International Christian Artists to get restored, equipped and encouraged to use their gifts with excellence for the glory of God’s kingdom. I will be helping in such programs, as well as helping with the planning and designing of a new arts training centre.
Youth With a Mission is an international missionary organization and our objective is to reach people with the gospel of Jesus Christ. The creative arts DTS is designed to help and encourage Christian artists to develop and nurture their gifts and talents for Kingdom purposes. We will look at different topics from God the Artist, who created the universe; to God our Father, who has given us each different gifts and abilities and enjoys watching us learn and grow as His children.
In the second part of our school we will tell others about Jesus Christ in creative ways using our different talents in dance, drama, art and music. And this year we will be part of a big mission’s field, as South Africa will be hosting the soccer World Cup. As thousands from around the world flock to see and cheer their country play, we will be there to show them someone worth cheering more about, Jesus!
It has been great to be back in England for a few months and to see people again, even if only for a short while. Thank you again for all your support and prayers. Lastly, as YWAM is a non profit organisation, everyone who works for them does so voluntary. Therefore, if anyone would like to contribute towards my work with YWAM there will be forms at the back of church to advise you how.
